Have you noticed that food just tastes better outdoors? Good weather, good company, and the pretty view from your blanket are all you need to have the perfect picnic. UNCOMMON Dinkytown shares three favorite places for a great picnic in Minneapolis this spring. Get out and enjoy!
East River Flats Park
Just south of the University of Minnesota campus you’ll find the East River Flats Park. The park has a great view of the city and the Mississippi Gorge. There’s plenty of space to spread out your snacks and take in some fresh air.
Water Power Park
Water Power Park is a must-see location. The falls drown out the sounds of the city and leave you with beautiful views of the bridges, the Mississippi River, and downtown Minneapolis. Great for scenic photos and a solo-picnic.
Want to feel like you’re picnicking on the beach, in the middle of the city? Longfellow Park has expansive green spaces and a recreation area for events, while just down the hill are white sandy beaches that will make you forget you’re in the city. You can stroll up the beach for more private views of the river and find a great place to host a grand picnic.
A picnic in Minneapolis is a great way to enjoy the warmer weather and views of the city. Now that spring is here, we can’t wait to get outdoors and take advantage of everything. If you’re looking for more fun activities close to University of Minnesota, check out the UNCOMMON Dinkytown blog.
