Looking for the Perfect Game to Ring in the Fall?

The Golden Gophers launch their football season with a bang against The Ohio State University on September 2 – and they won’t have a tougher test on their schedule than the Buckeyes, a team ranked in the top five nationally this preseason. Their electric new running back TreVeyon Henderson brings elite speed and jukes to a team with top-tier athleticism. Can Mohamed Ibrahim and the running game for Minnesota keep up? At UNCOMMON Dinkytown, you’re less than a mile walk from Huntington Bank Stadium – so this is one early season matchup you’ll have no excuse to miss.

Ready for Some (More) Football?

The NFL season kicks into full swing this fall, as well, with the Minnesota Vikings’ opener in September. A key matchup comes early against the Cleveland Browns on October 3. Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, and Adam Thielen will score points – but can the Vikings’ defense improve enough to slow down the Browns, a preseason Super Bowl favorite? Make the short 1.5-mile stroll to U.S. Bank Stadium to see how it all plays out.

Want to Catch Some Basketball?

The Minnesota Lynx are charging through their season and headed to the playoffs – but you’ll still have time to catch a few games at Target Center. On August 31, Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty come to town to face off against Napheesa Collier and the Lynx. Take the chance to enjoy a matchup between two young stars of the WNBA.

Looking for the Beautiful Game in Minneapolis?

On the heels of a trip to the MLS Western Conference Finals, Minnesota United FC are in the stretch run of their season. Can they recapture last season’s form and stand up against the best in the West? A matchup with Sporting KC on October 31 will be a great test. Catch the Metro Green Line from campus for a short ride down to Allianz Field to show your support.

More Minneapolis Events, Please

Even as the cooler temperatures arrive, there’s plenty of great sporting events in Minneapolis to heat things up. The NBA season opens October 19, and the young Minnesota Timberwolves – led by Karl-Anthony Towns and sophomore Anthony Edwards – will be eager to show their progress. You’ll want to be there when Edwards faces off against the Charlotte Hornets and LaMelo Ball, who beat Edwards out for Rookie of the Year.

Can’t Get Enough Minnesota Hoops?

The Golden Gophers will be hitting the hardcourt at Williams Arena with men’s basketball games firing up in November. There’s plenty to watch for this season, with the Big Ten boasting some of the best basketball in the country. Circle the date when Michigan comes to town, as Juwan Howard leads a team with the top recruiting class in all of college basketball.

The Coolest Sport in Minneapolis

The University of Minnesota hockey team takes their top-tier program to the ice in November, too. While every game on the schedule will be a blast, don’t miss a chance to see them face the Wisconsin Badgers – the only team in the Big Ten to outpace the Golden Gophers in wins during the 2020-2021 season.
