Where can I see holiday lights near the University of Minnesota?

If you’re looking for a show-stopping lights display, you’ll want to plan a visit to the GLOW Festival. Over one million lights create a magical winter wonderland complete with a three-story ice palace and the sELFie plaza. The lights turn on at 5 PM every night between now and January 2.

Are there any fun festivals this season close to Dinkytown?

Food, shops, and fun are all on display at this years’ Holidazzle. Head down to Loring Park December 17 and 18 for a wide selection of local vendors, handcrafted goods, and seasonal joy. If you need to do some last-minute gift shopping, Holidazzle can help with that as well!

Are there any fun Twin City winter events after the holidays?

As you ring in the new year, you’ll have a few more festivals and winter activities to look forward to around town. The Great Northern kicks off at the end of January and starts a ten day celebration of outdoor activities, local music and artists, and regional favorite foods.

But that’s not the only fun on the horizon. Mark your calendar for the BEAR’ly Open - Golf on Ice tournament and dance party. All net proceeds support the White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf. You can join in the festivities, or volunteer to help out.

There’s no place like home this winter season – take advantage of everything the Twin Cities has to offer this time of year. Learn more about what’s nearby at the UNCOMMON Dinkytown blog.
